Those Little Moments

In today's Dinette Set, the pool is the scene of any number of crimes against decency:
  • The panel as a whole; sweet lord does anyone believe people want to see something like this while drinking their morning coffee?
  • Jerry's pose: part beached whale, part treed-bear, part centerfold; all wretched.
  • Jerry's shadow: makes it seem as if he has a tail...OK, that may or may not have been deliberate.
  • Joy's mug: Shut up? What the hell does that have to do with anything, unless it was a subconscious message from the artist to herself.

Gah... the horror! And Jerry's thing that I guess is supposed to look like a Speedo appears to actually just be a skirt... *runs screaming*

Speedo, skirt, or loincloth? I know I always approach this comic from the wrong direction, but: a) Why doesn't Jerry use the pool stairs? You can clearly see the railing. b) Why are we draining the pool while we're still in it? c) Magilla only has one "g" - how hard is that to look up?

Can't you see the joke in it all? All that hair on Jerry's body and yet he is bald and wears a toupe' !!!!

Sorry, Nikki. That's just not very funny. Well, I mean, it is funny in one of those ironic ways, but that doesn't count, since Jerry's a recurring character. It's not funny anymore.

Plus which, that's a toupee? I thought it was one of those funky sottish golf-hats.
