Marketing Dollars

In today's Dinette Set, product placement dollars continue to corrupt the artist's vision, while the reader contemplates other potential commercial tie-ins:
  • Are you a guest here at the Ritz? No. There are some things that money can't buy. For everything else, there's MasterCard.
  • Are you a guest here at the Ritz? No, but I assume what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
  • Are you a guest here at the Ritz? No. Got Milk?

Burl's shirt doesn't make sense (what else is new). Should it be "It's gotta be 12:00 somewhere - check in" maybe? Sigh. I want to know where in the world there is a Ritz-Carlton within spitting distance of a Holiday Inn Express. They don't really serve the same clientèle.

Millard, there's a saying common amongst the early-drinking crowd "It's noon somewhere" or something along those lines. The idea being, if you're not supposed to drink until the afternoon, why not drink when it's in the afternoon somewhere else.

I've seen it on kitchy airbrushed mirrors that go above your in-house wetbar.

Also - Isn't check in time usually in the 3:00 range? I mean, I've had a ton of problems in the past with trying to get early check-ins for conferences and such, and been unable to do so when the hotel is overbooked.
