Gossip Corner

In today's Dinette Set, the folks gather round the table to:
  • Utter an elliptical bit of dialog, including some names with which we are not familiar, after which the reader has no idea what they are talking about.
  • Feign righteous indignation on Burl's part.
  • Make yet another boob joke in poor taste.
  • Include Jerry in the scene, but do not reference him or give him dialog.

Jerry's purpose is, and always will be, to look smarmy in case you don't understand that a joke is being made. Sometimes he's the proprietor of said joke, other times he's merely the catalyst, and in case where she's not sure that the joke has been adequately handled, she just throws Jerry in to smile his comehither smile and let people know, "these are the jokes."
