- Burl and Jerry stand in virtually the identical position, with their left hand, as almost always, tucked suspiciously into a front pants pocket.
- Joy and Verla stand in mirrored symmetry, and both seem to be suffering from forearm pseudopodia, although the swelling in Joy's extremity seems to have gone down a bit.
As if, without that detail, the reader would be unable to understand the panel because they would not realize they were standing in the Penny's yard or because they would not understand that it is garbage day on both sides of the street.

It's important to put details like that in, because the view from the Penny's front yard changes.

The funny thing is: where's the road in either of those panels? You know, the big black stripe on the ground, that the garbage truck drives on?
Hmm. Let's try again:
Link to old comic
i gotta admit: "Nair Weight Loss Formula" is pretty funny. too bad it took me several looks at the comic to find it.
e-r-o-x Thank you for the link to The Dinette Set old comics--its been a rainy day here with nothing to do and I have sat all afteroon reading them---I have gone back 2 years and have gotten many laughs. I love this comic strip---Julie is a true genius when it comes to the lives and mannerism of everyday senior citizens (not all--but alot) I don't care how much you all condemn her--I love her. I also love your comments, though very harsh at times!
